Here’s how we’re giving back.
A small church shouldn’t have to choose between a good website and its ministry budget. Many churches run on volunteers and careful giving, and the website ends up at the bottom of the list. We want to help with that.
So we are taking the same framework we use for paid client work and turning it into complete church websites anyone can download for free. Pick one, put your church’s name on it, and help people find their way to you on Sunday.

Install it in an afternoon.
No coding needed. If you can upload a photo to a website, you can do this. Set aside about an hour the first time.

- Step 1:
Download your template.
Open the template you like, click Download and tell us who you are. You will get one file that ends in .wpress. Save it somewhere easy to find, like your desktop. Don’t open, unzip or rename it.
- Step 2:
Start a fresh WordPress site.
Most hosts install WordPress in a few clicks. Use a brand new, empty site: importing replaces everything on it, so never import on top of a site you already use.
- Step 3:
Add the free import plugin.
Sign in, go to Plugins, then Add New, and search for All-in-One WP Migration. Click Install Now, then Activate. See it on WordPress.org (opens in a new tab)
- Step 4:
Import the template.
Open All-in-One WP Migration, then Import. Drag your .wpress file onto the page and click Proceed when it asks. Leave the tab open until it says it’s done.
- Step 5:
Sign in with the template’s login.
The import replaces the site’s users, so your old login won’t work. Go to yoursite.com/wp-admin and use the starter login on the template’s page. If asked, go to Settings, then Permalinks, and click Save Changes twice.
- Step 6:
Change the password right away.
Go to Users, then Profile. Set a strong new password and use your own email address. Everyone who downloads a template gets the same starter login, so this step matters.
- Step 7:
Make it yours.
Add your church’s name, logo, service times, address and photos, and update each page. When it looks right, connect your domain through your host and you are live.
- Step 8:
Add your own plugin licenses.
Every template includes ACF Pro and Gravity Forms so it works right away, without license keys. For updates and support, buy your own license for ACF Pro (opens in a new tab) and Gravity Forms (opens in a new tab), then enter each key in its plugin’s settings.
If the file is too big.
- Some hosts limit upload sizes. Ask yours to raise the limit for an hour.
- Or upload the file into wp-content/ai1wm-backups with their file manager.
- Then open All-in-One WP Migration, go to Backups and restore it.

Building websites for churches?
Every template is free for a church to use on its own website. If you are a designer, freelancer or agency building a site for a client church, buy a client license for each website you launch with one.
We run on the honor system. No license keys, no tracking, no one checking up on you. We know you could just grab the free download and run. But “thou shalt not steal” made the top ten for a reason, and we figure people who build church websites have read it. We trust you. Your license keeps new free templates coming for churches that can’t afford a website.
