Kelli Anderson is an artist and designer in every sense of the meaning — from photographs, to drawings that bounce off the pages with life, to illustrations and letterings that grace the covers of books, invites, and logos, down to the nitty gritty of coding websites — Kelli does it all. She is a tinkerer who never backs down from the opportunity to experiment with new ways to create images and experiences. In everything she does, Kelli strives to make her work come alive, pushing the limits of normal, and making art interactive for her audience. Kelli has worked with a variety of clients including Airbnb and teaches Art History at Pratt University.
James White began his career as a visual artist and designer at the age of 4 years old. While his career began with stealing his parent’s typewriter paper to sketch out images, it didn’t end there. Upon graduating high school, the Canadian artist found himself developing his skill-set at a local Graphic Design course. After learning the ins and outs of Photoshop and Illustrator, James’ career as a designer took off and he began diving into the world of web design and print campaigns. His love for side projects kept him active, and later paved the way for James to found Signalnoise Studio where he gained recognition in the design industry and was able to come alongside of companies such as Nike, Google, MTV, and Universal Music in order to create designs for pop culture.
Danielle Evans is a lover of typography and lettering. While many artists are confined by pen, paper, and computer screens — Danielle, a well-rounded artist, has found her niche outside of the norm. With a love for baking and exercising creativity, Danielle desires to create experiences for people through her work by using edible objects as her tool to create breath-taking lettering. Danielle’s unique line of work has given her the opportunity to art direct, food style, and collaborate with a variety of brands in order to create authentic, evocative, and approachable designs. With creative awards in her back pocket, Danielle has been able to work with well-known brands such as Target, Ramano’s Macaroni Grill, and Kellog just to name a few.
Helena Price is a photographer based out of San Francisco, California. Her career as a photographer started off at the age of six with disposable 35 mm cameras she found lying around her house, compliments of her father. Helena found herself fascinated with film and obsessed with documenting everything that her eyes saw. After college, Helena moved to California and began a career in the Tech and PR industry working with start-ups as the head of communications. However, her love for capturing honest expressions was undeniable and Helena soon ventured off from the corporate world to pursue her love for photography. Exploring the realm of photography, Helena merged her love for humanity and the idea of making portraits, telling stories that feel real, and capturing moments that people can relate to. Helena’s adventurous spirit has taken her far and has led to her to work with brands such as Nike, Uber, Dropbox among many others.
Bill Kenney is the Co-founder and Art Director of Focus Lab, LLC — but he much more than that. Bill is a designer, thinker, laugher, leader, and proud owner of an impressive collection of Star War shirts. Starting at a young age, Bill learned the significance of design and over the decades has honed and developed his skills. While there are many in the industry, Bill’s work is set apart by his attention to detail, clean, and user-friendly designs. His passion for branding and web-design has led Bill far, but he has found himself unbound by any one medium of design. With a strong belief in community and collaboration, Bill and his team serve a variety of clients that stretch from Savannah, Georgia to England, Russia, and the land down under — Australia.
Charlie Waite is a designer who breeds coolness with his Newport Beach vibes. Charlie’s time at Ole Miss treated him well — not only did he excel in his baseball career, but he learned the ins and outs of design. Charlie went on to play in the big leagues, and when his baseball career came to an end — Charlie ventured out on his own and started a business focusing on aiding small businesses and athletes with branding. In 2012, Charlie joined forces with Focus Labs as their lead designer. Today, Charlies works remotely from Birmingham, Alabama and specializes in giving high-fives to strangers and creating interactive experiences for users through UI / UX design.
Shawn Blanc is writer and designer based out of Kansas City. In 2007, Shawn began his writing career on ShawnBlanc.net. As the years passed, Shawn’s passion for writing grew and so did his audience. Iin the spring of 2011, Shawn quit his day job and began writing full-time. Creating his dream job, Shawn continues to write daily, offering a monthly membership to his readers which includes perks such as behind-the-scenes podcasts discussing technology and design, a monthly member journal which is full of hypertext tidbits, and his secret coffee recipes! Through his writings, Shawn is helping creatives bridge the gap between good work and great work.
Larry Hubatka is a man who has been all over the map — in terms of living situations and career. Originally from Korea, Larry is a creative who has found himself familiar with both the corporate and non-profit worlds. In 2005, Larry moved his family from Portland, Oregon to Charlotte, North Carolina to work at a TV station. As Larry was climbing the ladder of the corporate world, he found himself simultaneously volunteering at a local church plant — Elevation Church. Steady and diligent to serve the local community with creativity, Larry transitioned out of the corporate world and joined Elevation Church’s staff as the Creative Director in 2007. Today, Elevation Church is one of the most influential churches in America with 15,000 individuals walking through their doors each Sunday. Taking the lead, Larry oversees everything that an individual experiences at Elevation from graphics to print to video.
Dan Cassaro is a native New Yorker who runs a one-man designs studio, Young Jerks. His unique brand brings a new level of excellence to custom type, lettering, illustration, and logo design. Among his many accomplishments and accolades from the New Yorker, Fast Company, Wall Street Journal, New York Times Magazine, is the Rolling Stones — which goes hand in hand with his heavy influence from powerful 70s rock and roll!
